A Self-Care Project.

We want to help everyone in our community have access to professional hair services, especially those who are at that stage in life when hair, appearance and self-esteem (and self-identity) are so intricately linked.

That is why we have partnered with a number of local charities (Wyndham House, Second Chance) to help bring professional services to the youth in our community who most need it.

It is about sharing our passion for building relationships and connections that promote self-care with those who might have obstacles preventing them from seeking professional hair-care.

Why

Free

Cuts For Youth

For every 100 haircuts we do, we will donate a free cut to youth in our City who might otherwise go without professional care.  Clients will also be able to purchase a haircut at a special price ($40) that is donated to these programs in our City.

The haircuts are provided to various local charities  in the form of a gift card that can be redeemed at any time by the recipient.  There are no special conditions.

We have arranged for free bus tickets to also be available to any of the clients who need help with transportation to and from salon.

How it works

HAIR IS SELF-CARE

Hair they can wear

We believe that hair plays a critical role in how a young person feels about themselves - their confidence; their self-esteem.   Hair is status - it is part of helping them fit in with their peers in a healthy way - one that makes them feel a sense of belonging and a sense of self-determination.

Unfortunately, there are barriers for some to access the self-care that many of us take for granted.  Teens from disadvantaged families may not have the resources to spend on the latest trends.  The same for young single mothers and young professionals entering the workforce.

One way to alleviate poverty is improve access to essential services so that families can devote their income to other needs.  That is the goal of this program.  A small step forward for all of us in search of helping shape our community.
